ASEAN’s Role in Protecting Migrant Workers’ Rights During the Covid-19 Pandemic

This paper focuses on ASEAN’s efforts as a regional organization to protect the rights of migrant workers in Covid-19 pandemic situation. The protection is part human regulated various international legal instruments well within ASEAN framework, especially Consensus Promotion and Protection Rights Migrant Workers (ACPPRMW). Although responding quickly impact economic health sectors, response protecting during were late ineffective. also an illustration ineffective implementation system mechanism for other instruments, due main principle that firmly held by ASEAN, namely non-interference principle.
